remember to smile at the Drill Instructors Wink

My Mental advice is this I will Always be and end, they can't yell at you forever(even though it feels like it) and they can't keep you on the quarterdeck forever either. Keep that in mind when it all sucks. also don't live day to day. A day is to Long. just look a head to the next chow, if you keep telling yourself if I can make it to the next chow I will be fine you time will go a lot faster than if you counted the days.

Physical-Mark your crap as soon as you can, it sucks using someone elses tooth brush.

All I can tell you is BE FAST AND BE LOUD!!! And you should be good. If you lose your voice, thats good, it means your actually yealling, lol.
Aint much you can do about your flat feet now, just be glad u pass MEPS with them. I got a minor case of it to. Just dont complain about them at boot, you dont want to cause attention to yourslef. Just tuff it out I guess.
Goodluck man....

I am no Medical expert, and I am not You and don't know how you feet react. but you should't worry about you feet unless they are severly hurting. Not hurting a little bit, at boot camp everybodys feet hurt if not for stand for hours on end than it will will be from humping. from what I have been told if you only have flat feet and no other foot problems you should be find. as I said I am not a medical expert. just wear two pairs of socks, and when you are in the field clean you feet and change you socks often and you should be fine.

You have already been give the same answer on all the other threads you have posted on. Don't worry about it. I was like you I had a slight condition I was worried about at boot camp and I thought It was going to screw me up. I never had a problem with it. relax and concentrate on memorizing you general orders and make sure you pay attention to what the drill instructers say and do you best you will be fine.

How bad do you want to be a Marine? "Pain is weakness leaving the body" is an old boot camp saying from long before I hit the yellow footprints and it's still just as true today.

I developed cellulitis and gutted it out for days until they caught me coming out of the shower hootch with a severely swollen leg. I even rejoined my platoon after driving the Navy Doctor crazy for three days and telling the duty RTR Gunny how I wanted to graduate with my Bros.

The price was heavy as I limped for even more days but they kept me because they knew I wouldn't allow anything to stop me from becoming a Marine. The choice is your's just the same as it was mine and every Devil whose ever crossed the parade deck.

So again, how bad do you want it and what price are you willing to pay to become a Marine? Equally as important, what price are you willing to pay and what lengths are you willing to go to be a good Marine who serves the Corps after you graduate?

Like Rigger told you, never think further than your next meal or count your days. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, concentrate on what they're trying to teach you, give 110% of whatever you have inside of you each moment you're there, do what they tell you when they tell you and never worry about home because home always take care of itself.

You're going to be fine. Believe in yourself half as much as we believe in you and we'll be welcoming you aboard in thirteen weeks. Best of luck Re-cruit. You pack the gear Future Devil, do something with it!

Semper Fi,
Dino

Like Deanosaur said,

Don't go to sick call untill they force you or someone has to carry you. Your closely monitored by your DIs and if theres something seriously wrong you won't be neglected. A couple of us were sick as **** for a few days, but decided to suck it up, our DIs knew we were ****ed up and didn't comment when we came in last on every run for a few days. We eventually got better and continued on as normal. Had we gone to sick call, as a few of our platoonmates did, we would have been dropped. My point is, don't put your boot camp time in the hands of a Navy Doc unless absolutely neccessary. He gets to go home every night, you get to hang out in MRP and be the red headed step child in your next platoon.

Remember once you are on the parade deck and they hand you the Eagle Globe and Anchor you are a Marine and no Matter what condition you may be in NO MOTHER F*CKER ON THIS GREEN EARTH CAN TAKE THAT AWAY FROM YOU!

-1 sorry Man I have to disagree with you a little here. There is a difference between being TOUGH and being STUPID. I related in another thread about a guy I knew at Boot Camp with both came down with Pink eye at the same time I went to sick call and got it taken care of. He said he wasn't going because he didn't want be be a PU$$Y so by a week before graduation it got so bad his eyes where sealed shut with pus and he could clean them out and he developed a sevier case sinusits(spelling) and it took two guys to get him to medical. Guess what? He got droped a week before graduation and spending time at MRP while his platoon was getting the Eagle Globe and Anchors, all because he didn't want to be a PU$$Y.
If you get a bad case of Pink Eye, or you start to get fluid in you lungs, spend the day and go to medical get the Anti-biotics and knock out the sickness before you get worse and they have to drop you.

On the flip side just because you feel a little sick, or your leg, back, neck, head hurt don't go running to Medical. every one is going to be sick the first week or two that is normal. Also because you are going in the summer the Platoons are you going to be anywhere between 70-over 100(yes they can get that big but it's rare) sometimes the DI's miss things if you start to have a problem, request permission to talk with your senior DI. If you are a good recruit and you Senior is worth his salt he will do anything he can to keep you with your platoon.

Here is they entire rant from above broken down Barney Style:
DON'T BE A PU$$Y BUT DON'T BE AN IDIOT EITHER!

good luck at boot and remember hand sanitizer is your friend.

This is why we keep telling you all to occupy your mind with other things before boot camp. Keeps the stress down and you don't worry about whats coming up. Fear sabotages the bravest of hearts so let it all go and just relax and have fun while you can. Don't trip Little Bro, it's all good and always works out.

TravisMoto, just remember that hundreds of thousands have been there before you got there so no matter how much things will suck one day, the rest of us went thru the same thing as well.

keep focused on the goal of graduation & learn everything as best you can.

when getting smoked or when out PTing with the platoon, give it 110% all the time.

good luck.
