Hi, my name is Bryant and I am 17 years old. I finished high school a year early and I just got excepted into the college of my choice. I really want to join the Marine Corps and more specifically an Officer. I have read over the different Marine Commisioning programs and the Platoon Leaders Class appeals to me most out of the other programs. Just to tell everybody a little bit more about myself I volunteer at the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society on MCB Hawaii. I do briefs that inform Marine's and Sailors on the programs that we offer and I do some various admin work in an office doing casework. So I already have been familiarized with working with Marines and Sailors and so I probably have a leg up on some of the other applicants. I have never got arrested or anything and I finished high school with a 3.25 and I am pretty intelligent, and I am in pretty good shape. My question is how hard is it to get a spot in PLC as I have explained my situation to you guys already. How competitive is it, I have heard that it is usually 250-300 people class sizes. So I am just wondering how hard it is to get into PLC?

Honestly they are going to be looking at your G.P.A. from college and your PFT score (the higher the better..I repeat...the higher, the better). But those two factors are going to be the most important. Then you have your essay and letters of recommendation (or maybe that is for MECEP's), but definitely the essay. It's almost like applying to college, they look at your G.P.A and test scores mainly, then extra activities. So make sure your first semester G.P.A. is high and that you are getting at least a 280 pft. Competition is high to become a Marine Corps officer. This is my two cents. But you money maker is that pft score. Best of luck to you!
Ok thank you for the input. I am about to start college at the begining of january. Since I volunteer at NMCRS I already have two letters of recomendations, one from the CO of the base and one from the SGT MAJ. of the base. I know them very well. My PFT is at about a 200 right now, but I have already started working towards 300, I would like too ace it. I am in good moral standing, I have a temper but controllable. Like I said I have never got into trouble with the law or anything like that.
