Hello, I just this past weekend went to MEPS and am all set to ship out to MCRDPI May 27. My MOS is combat engineer. I wanted to see if there were any other 1371's out there on the forums. I've read about the MOS online but I wanted to see if any BTDT engineers are out there to give some insight as to what its like. Thanks

Back OT - From my understanding, you aren't guaranteed a specific job (such as 1371), but rather, that you will be assigned a MOS in the 13xx field.

I'm going reserves, not active duty. So with that I get 1371 guaranteed. I will be assigned to Bridge Co. B, 6th ESB, 4thMLG in Folsom PA.

BTDT engineer?

I've never served in a bridge company. All I have to say is I hope you like to lift heavy things...you'll see what I'm talking about when you put a Medium Girder Bridge together in engineer school.

You'll also get to work with the Bridge Erection Boats, these are pretty cool.

I'm sure you'll do more than that, but like I said I've never served in a bridge company.
