Reserve Artillery wont exsist much longer, several Battalions have been shut down already. There is a good chance that you will go to Iraq and an even better chance that you wont take your Big Guns with you, most units are being turned into Provincial MP's/Truck Plts or Civil Affairs/CAG shiat. Other than that its a great MOS

Im not arty but I do believe that one of the first units to get the HIMARs systems was a reserve unit.

Awesome post. M777 looks pretty sweet. Is there artillery specific Mos for an officer or is it just artillery?

Artillery brings dignity to what would otherwise be just a brawl.

Well what do you think if the caption under the picture reads, "Marines from Mike Battery, 4th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment operate the 155mm M198 howitzer in November 2004. The battery was based at Camp Fallujah, Iraq and was supporting Operation Phantom Fury."

You have to swim with an DPICM round 300 yards, then sidestroke with with a gun sight held above the water then....... No just kidding. My wife says I'm a smart azz. As long as you pass swim qual in boot camp you can be anything you want.
