Did you read the information provided in the BOLDED forums at the top of the Wannabe forums? There is information about OCS Training. RTFM.

Every officer, regardless of MOS, will attend OCS (I lied, Naval Academy grads will not) and TBS. TBS is a 6 month school that teaches all newly commissioned officers how to be a provisional rifle platoon commander; the very basics. If selected for the Infantry MOS, you will then attend Infantry Officer Course. IOC is a 12 week school that will teach you advanced Infantry tactics and techniques. Upon completion of IOC, you will report to the Infantry battalion you were assigned while at IOC. In the fleet, you will be in charge of a rifle platoon, weapons platoon, or in rare cases, a CAAT or 81's platoon. You will be responsible for preparing your platoon physically, mentally, and academically for combat. You will also deal with a host of other items; such as: your Marines' financial problems, family problems, mental health, etc. You may also be handed down a company collateral duty like career planner, family readiness rep, SACO rep, etc.

I forgot to mention that while at IOC you will have the option of requesting the MOS 0303 (LAR Officer).

Well besides being the ones who really run the show....

As an NCO the Officers hold you to the standard to do your job and train, look out for and develope your Marines into one cohesive unit, and in the Infantry that means taking that unit into harm's way in Durkha Durkhastan and bringing them all home.

thanks so basically the officers are the ones who give the commands and the NCO's are the ones that are out in the field and running things right?

officers make the policy and NCO's enforce that policy...very simply put. However, that's not to say NCO's don't play a large part in developing policy as well.

Heh, if a Platoon Commander isn't going to the field with his Marines...something is very wrong.

Some clarification on CO's in the field. There are several units which are given orders by a CO or XO to the SNCO and/or NCOIC, which are then carried out with no Officer supervision. However, the SNCO and/or NCOIC do communicate their status when necessary, thereby ensuring the mission is being carried out accordingly.

This quote contradicts the one above. It appears as if you have these delusions of grandeur in becoming an officer. You are not made of leadership material. Plus... YOU will NEVER learn.
