It’s no one’s place here to judge anyone else as we’ve all made mistakes of one kind or another in our lives. Like the good Book says, "judge yet not least ye be judged."
So you didn’t get in, that’s okay because the military isn’t for everyone. Apparently life has other plans for you so now is a good time to search your soul to find out what they are. Life does not begin nor end with the Marine Corps or any military service because sooner or later we all end up in the open job market. Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean your life is over. Quite to the contrary young ones, it's still just beginning. Just don’t you quit on you because your best is yet to come so let the miracle of you happen. If you still want to soldier there are "private armies" out there that may take you as a "contractor" because they have more leeway so do a web search to see what you come up with. But remember, there are also a lot of organizations doing great work within our own poverty stricken communities here in America and service is still service no matter how you perform it. Discipline comes from within which is what you would have learned in boot camp so don't think it's not already within you. Just give you 110% of whatever you have inside of you at any given moment in time and you'll do fantastic in whatever life path you choose. But the key is still don’t quit on yourself! You’re a human being who deserves respect and self respect and you’ll lose it within your own eyes if you pack it in on yourself now. Hang in there and have faith in yourself and everything will be alright. Last but not least, you can always train hard and heavy in some form of boxing or martial arts to bring out the champion that already exists within you. Then when you make it to the top 10%, use that to help other young people to keep from making the same mistake you did by being a positive role model who speaks out and lives a clean life. You're a good person so don't ever play yourself short because mistakes are excellent learning opportunities when we turn things around and use the information for our benefit. Believe in you half as much as many of us do and you'll do great things with your life. Remember, a true hero is someone who steps up in the face of great challenges, not in the absence of them. Let the hero within you blossom into the person you’re already destined to be. There are a lot of us pulling for you so stay strong and keep on keeping on. Life is great but you have to do your part to help God make it happen. The choices are still yours, make them good ones. May your life’s journey be fruitful and smooth. God bless and keep you in His care. Dino |

Artillery brings dignity to what would otherwise be just a brawl. |
If I could Dean,
Wannabees, I come from a military family, my Dad said that the minimum I should do was four years of public service. It did not matter what that public service was, whether it be the military, school teacher, firefighter, whatever. After that, I had his "blessings" to do whatever I wanted. You will feel no greater accomplishment to perform some type of public service and to help your fellow citizen. I have passed that on to my children as well, and they understand how important it is.. Good luck in your public service endevour. |
