i ship to Parris Island 20080707. So i looked at a calendar and it says October 6th is exactly 13 weeks from that starting date. After looking at http://www.mcrdpi.usmc.mil/visitors/grad/index.htmi see there are no graduation dates set for 20081006. All those dates are set for Fridays. Am i off on something? shouldnt i be graduating exactly 13 weeks on a Monday?

Honestly on your part yes Friday to monday is an eternity.

But do you think we really give a rats arse whether you graduate friday or monday???

In fact ask the first guy yelling at ya when you get off that bus when you graduate and if he tells you friday or monday Ill raise your first born kid!

much like everything else you will come to know: everything you need to know, will be taught to you when you get there. don't worry about the end before you've begun the beginning.

im not being a little ***** or nothing. I remember i spoke to a fresh recruit out of bootcamp and he told me "You graduate exactly on the 13th week, exactly 13 weeks from when you shipped". And i saw there was nothing from 13 weeks from 20080707 so i was wondering if something was wrong. IDC though, i dont mind the extra days, i was just asking

Graduations are on Fridays, but you have to earn it first. Do not question what a Marine tells you, just do what he says. The Sea Bag Drag for me was on a Sunday, we graduated on a Friday, T-71 in 1979. You wasn't even a glem in your daddys eye yet...

There is no such thing as a "fresh recruit out of Boot Camp," unless he was dropped from training and returned to being a civilian. Had he been a recruit, he wouldn't be a Marine.

femzz...The day you ship will not be the day you start your 13 weeks. You'll undergo receiving and processing then drop to a plt.

well i mean he was a fresh Marine, who claimed he just graduated bootcamp earlier that month. He was at my school with the other 2 recruiters. Also, so would that mean i would graduate on October 10 2008 and be in Fox company 2nd Battalion? im not too sure what RT stands for

Also, is summer bootcamp as bad as people make it out to be? I mean i know its hot but is it that bad? Because i ship july 7th, but i would like top push it up to sometime in june after i graduate. i would really like to push it up. But from what im hearing is that its too hot in PI during the summer. I dont care about the damn heat, all i care about is being hydrated. Also, if the heat was that bad wouldnt the DI's make sure the trainees are hydrated because than that may cause problems and delay training i would assume.

I was on Parris Island this summer from june forth to August 31st and it sucked. If i had gone during the winter....it would still suck. Yea it's hott and it's humid but w/e you are there to train and it will suck regardless. As long as you drink plently of water you will be fine. Noting they make you do is impossible in the heat or the cold. Stayin hydrated is your lil task. You gotta make choices like go to bed and sleep to the last second. Or get up and make sure your canteen is filled. There are tons of heat cases all that happens is a Corpsman shoves a thermometer up there *** literally and if they are that ****ed up they get sent to BAS. Besides for that it takes an act of god to inturupt the training schedule

Well i really understand the heat problem but i dont think i will worry about it. Yeah im sure the humidity may bother me but all i care about is drinking and my breathing. as long as the DI lets me drink my water i should be fine...just as long as i have enough water. Now im just a little concerned about running and keeping my breathing good with the humidity. I should be fine though after training for a few months here.

Plus, i hope to get deployed and im sure the desert heat during combat is 10x worse than some humidity during bootcamp

Don't worry...your DI is going to make sure you stay hydrated. After bootcamp, you wont want to even look at water.

Yeah, for three months all you'll care about is opportunities to expell all your "water". Oh, and sleep.

i shipped out in nov of 1982, and it can be nice n warm there at PI, but it can also be cold and rainy..it can even snow like it did on us when we were out in the boonies for the week of IT. but it never got HOT! you'll still have the same sand fleas n squitos, and the same mean nasty ol DI's, and you'll be there thru thanksginving, christmas, and new years. or some variation thereof depending on when you ship.

Your profile says you are an E-1, drilling Reservist. Fix that.
