Basically I was at the store the other day and I seen these small shot containers and they said quick fat burning and I was wondering if there is a product that works quick and works good on burning weight. I am 6 foot tall and weight 207 pounds I would like to get down to 190 before the summer time.

Did you get a training guide from your recruiter after you enlisted? I just got back from MEPs and got a "welcome packet". It had a dvd, bumper stickers, ect. It also came with a little training guide booklet. It has a training program for poolees in it. There is one for if you have 30 days or less until you go to RT, and there is one for 30-365 days until you go to boot. It looks like a good workout plan. I am gonna start it monday. Anyway, I am not a doctor nor a Marine so I can't comment on those pills. But, you should definately use the booklet. If not, you recruiter should have one. It has several workout plans for your current shape. It doesnt start out all intense, it starts slow and gets harder and harder the further you get. I ship 20080721(25 weeks away), so I can train up to week 25 in the book. When do you ship?

Yes. It's called ... EXERCISE.
It will work as quick as you make it work.
You are in total control.
It's free.

Every day. Starting now.

Alternate days of:

Running.

Cardiovascular workout sessions of at least 45 minutes with the intensity that causes you to sweat buckets the entire time.

Don't shoot for mediocrity.
Get down to 175.

I love your advice Recon. I went to Meps two days ago, and when the Gunnery sergeant called me back to the Marine office, and had the whole 8 of us do our pull ups and crunches, I was able to pull off 15 pullups, and 100 crunches in the 2 minutes no problem. Just wanted to thank you for all your fitness advice that you've given.

You will receive no better advise on exercise and conditioning than that from Deep Recon.

If you need guidence on diet and eating habits check out men's heath.com. Never use the so-called fat burning pills. If you type body mass index into a browser a formula should come up for computing it. I would not vouch for the validity of such formulas.

A BMI of 30 is considered obese, so yes you are a fatty. For males the highest BMI you should have is 18.

Forget those fat burning pills, their B.S.,and probably dangerious. Start running and doing a daily 7 workout. If you ain't sweatin, you ain't workin! Watch what you put in your mouth. If your not hungry, don't eat. If your bored, find something to do, like maybe working out. Pretty soon, your gonna find out that fat is being replaced by muscle. Stay with it, even when you don't want to. It all depends on YOUR attitude and dedication.

You need to stay away from the "fat-burning " pills.
They jack your heart rate up and when you actually start to exercise, then you put yourself at risk for a heart attack.
The only pills you really need to take when you are working out hard and dieting, are a good multivitamin, and that is because most people eat like crap.

Fat burning supplements are GARBAGE if it were that simple to take a pill and lose weight 1/2 of the Americans wouldn't be outta shape. It's real simple to lose weight you need to lift and do cardio at least 4-5 times a week. Also your diet matters stay away from frozen foods, fast foods, and soda.Eat healthier and excercise and you'll see results.Try not to eat anything heavy before you go to bed(but a natural fat burner is citrus especially grapefruit have a tall glass before you go to bed it breaks down fat).

BMI = Body Mass Index. What you're thinking of is BFI = Body Fat Index.

Think about it; do you think that everyone of the same height and weight has the same amount of fat on their bodies? Use your brain... that fat thing 5-6 feet above the ground.

This is'nt true. The number of "fat burners" on the market are innumberable. Of the millions of people who have taken them, I'd like you to show me one who has died from a heart attack. Simply put, they increase metabolic rate, decrease appetite, and could/will increase heart rate. Combined with strict dieting and progressive training, they will help you burn more fat, but 99% of those who use them do not train or diet properly, thus they see few, if any, results. FYI, most multi's are so improperly balanced that they offer few benefits, however, anti-oxidants are recommended during intense training.

I summary. Eat clean and often. Drink at least 1 gallon of water a day. Use progressive training techniques and get ample rest. The results will follow.

Fat burners are not "b.s." as many here like to suggest. They are far too often used without any exercise or clean diet as to see results. What is bulls h i t, is the promise of quick results. Americans are too stupid and far too lazy to see appreciable results from a clean diet and progressive training regime.

Betio is partially correct in his post, but there are a couple of things I'd like to correct. Grapefruit is not a fat burner, nor is citrus. Grapefruit and some other citrus fruits contain an alkaloid that extends the half-life (logevity)of some other substances commonly found in fat burners. This is why you'll often see grapefruit extract or rind in many fat burners. Also, before bed eat some clean protein along with a moderate amount of healthy fats. For example, some fat free cottage cheese with a tbspn of natural peanutbutter. Avoid carbs (like fruit juice!) because they illicit and insulin response which stops fat burning in its tracks! Any questions, feel free to ask.

Men's Health is a joke. Try researching the internet for dieting advice or ask somebody who's been training seriously for 15 years. Me.
