So I've been doing some reading about the reserves and I have some questions... I get the whole one weekend a month 2 weeks out of the year thing and that you can be deployed just like anyone else... My questions- If you want can you switch to active duty after some time (after I finish college)?
If you are deployed does your pay get upped to the amount of an active duty Marine with the same rank and time?
Does being in the reserves only entitle you to a handful of jobs?
Is your drilling station (or base?) assigned to you or is it by geographical location?
Last Q or now - I may be moving in the next 8 months to Colorado will I be allowed to make the move and where can i find info about bases close by?
When you originally join a reserve unit it has to be for a job available in that unit. If you move and that job is not available in a reserve unit in the area you will have to retrain into an available job designated by the unit.
Is there any way to find out what jobs are available at a specific drilling station? Also then when you sign up do you sign up to that drilling station?
The site above give phone numbers would I benefit from calling and what person am i looking to speak with?

Recruiters can tell you what MOS's are open in your area at local reserve stations.
