I am thinking about joining the MCDEP because I feel that in my past I have never pushed myself to achieve all that I possibly can. I feel the Marine Corps would not only force me to do this while I am enlisted but give me the tools to do that in my future. I am also interested in the benefits they would give me in terms of helping me start a valuable career and getting an education. Despite explaining this to my parents and close friends none of them support my decision in joining the Marine Corps and I am looking for some verification (other than from my recruiter) that I am making a good choice. Also if anybody has any experience convincing their parents to sign I would appreciate any advice you have. I know I can wait until I'm 18 to join but I would much rather do the delayed entry program and get some school done as well as prepare for boot camp.

Thanks
