Unless you enlist in the reserves with 4th LAR there is absolutely no guarantee of being put in LAR. If you become an 0313 then you will go to LAR but becoming a 13 in and of itself is not guaranteed. Everyone else in an LAR BN be it infantry, comm, MT etc. etc. gets picked randomly as determined by "the needs of the Marine Corps". So, unless you have some high ranking family members or such you cannot be guaranteed LAR.

OHRAAH 4th LAR!

Yep, that's the only guaranteed way to get an 0313 slot. The catch is, there has to be an opening.

You can try to go USMCR, get qualified for 0313, go to 4th LAR (providing it's in commuting distance!), and go AD later, but you'd be at the mercy of (again) the needs of the Marine Corps.
