Just to help calm your nerves.

It will not matter when or where you go the only thing that will be the hardest is getting over the culture shock.

You have to tell yourself no matter how scared you are just don't let that fear run your life and believe me what you are experiencing is something every Marine has went thru!

I can go on and on about stories etc but I want you all to know it will be something you will never forget.

You will go thru many emotions in the First month and that is the toughest time due to the shock of it all.

Month two you will start settling in and be glad you did not let that fear get the best of you and quit During month one.

Month three you will not only be ecstatic you stayed in but also you only have 30 days and a wake up to fulfilling your dream.

But also caution that the Drill Instructors will remind you now and then that they still have the capability to make your life miserable.

And that is normal due to being a Marine you will have days that you will feel on top of the world and minutes or days later you will feel like the world dropped out from under you.

Sacrifice is what its all about and those that endure it all have something to be very proud of.

I wish you all the best of luck and honestly fear can be your best friend, learn to use it Because fear can motivate you or paralyze you and if you learn to use it correctly it may not only get you thru many things in life but it may also save you or your buddies life.

Scuba, Zep and Mauri,

Above, you received a reply containing kind words of encouragement. This is something you WILL NOT be getting at all, in a very short amount of time.

Should one of you, perhaps, say "thank you" or something?

Here's some more free advice:

Marines get's a capital M

We don't have a whole lot in the Marine Corps except pride in who we are, and what we do.

Restored, cause the Gunny jumped the gun AGAIN!

Dont get too excited. The first thing their going to do is tear you down. The most important thing for you to be doing now is keeping a level head and preparing yourself for the mental hurricane of a lifetime. Take some time and square off any loose ends with family and friends. You dont want that trash ****in with your head while you have more important things to worry about.
