51's kick in the door one way or another so 11's can get in and blast 'em. Everytime you see a Marine war movie with someone breaking down a door, firing a flamethrower or a rocket launcher, thats a 51 doing their job. They're long on guts and short on patience and the Boys will never be denied.

While we 11's and 31's truly get most of the press and movies written about Marine Infantry wrongly credit 11's for 51's work, 51's are always right there in the thick of it quietly doing what they do best, killing the enemy as an equal part of the three way 11-31-51 team. They're second to none and always hold their own in any fight so trust their judgement and always believe in them because they'll never let you down.

If you have the guts to take on bunkers, kick in doors or blast tanks, you're a good candidate to be one of the crazy azzed 51's who love that stuff. Me, I'm a more peaceful 11 who likes to hide behind rocks and bushes while the Boys do their thing. Like I said, they're long on guts and God bless 'em all because it's a tough job and they do it well.

As you can tell, 11's, 31's and 51's are super tight and always liberty brothers. Semper Fi all you crazy 51's, urr-RAH!!!

Artillery brings dignity to what would otherwise be just a brawl.

So do Assaultmen fight in the same units as Riflemen? I assume they carry the M-16 like Riflemen right?

yeah.
currently, pretty much everyone is being used as an 0311 in infantry units. there's not a whole lot of need for heavy weapons in Iraq right now.
