"Urban Legends" - love it! Cool My daughter just called and I hated telling her I haven't sent her package yet because I'm waiting on money. Broke my heart. Now I can send it! Thanks isn't strong enough to express my gratitude for this info. But thanks. Cathie

Cathie Your Welcome, Its My Pleasure. Every little bit helps. We sent a box to Jason that would have cost $22.00 for only $8.10 what a savings. You would be surprized what You can fit into those boxes.

Hi Jabanas- Some mentioned awhile ago, to pack the box,,then take the stuff our and re pack it..you'll be able to get more "stuff" in!
I did it with the handwarmers, and it actually worked. I was questioning wether the post office would take the boxes,,,they were 'bulging at the seams"...thank goodness for that TAPE they send along..LOL

This is great. I'm going to go ahead and request the kit. Quick question though and forgive me if I have gotten this completely twisted, lol. It seems like I read on one of the military.com newsletters that shipping packages to Iraq was free if you ship it on base? Anyone know how that works???

No it isn't free for you to ship it from the base, unless you are stationed overseas yourself and it is going to another overseas location. But if you are CONUS it still costs you, the flat rate boxes are 8.10 each to be shipped. Now they can send stuff to you for free.

Thank you Navy Wife. I must have misunderstood or else it was an article written for them :-) I won't complain about $8.10. I had actually dreaded even looking up the cost knowing that my children would constantly want to send things for Daddy! Happy to know it won't be $30 to ship everytime, lol.

Yes make sure you use the boxes with the flat rate tags on them. I don't know why but they stick in 2 bigger boxes that are NOT flat rate boxes.

What does this have to do with 'free shipping'

Sorry, but this isn't ebay.

This service from the post office is great. I didn't even have to ask (I wasn't aware of the program). The clerk handed me several boxes one day when I was mailing pkgs to my son and my daughter, and told me, "when you run out, just ask for more." They also have flat boxes that, I think, are the same $8.00 (good for mailing my sheetcake of brownies). Smile
