This is Debbie. I checked on the Ft. Benning website under graduation dates and they showed that there was no BCT that started on the 10th. It showed the 4th (when Kyle started) and the next start date was the 18th--today! Did you get a letter today? If not, I was wondering if they held your son's group and started him today. Which would put his tenative graduation date as the 20th of Nov.

Have you looked at that site?

hi Debbie, alls i know is he called last week and said he was going to be moving the next day i assumed it was to start bct. and i have not recieved any thing sence. no letter at all. i did check out that sight and i was confused,becouse of his last phone call. but maybe he's not starting till this week. this stinks... lol... ill let you know moore when i hear anything. or go crazy...haha. thanks debbie, katie

Is your soldier doing OSUT or BCT?

My son called over the weekend, last night from his cell, because they were moving out of reception, and started BCT training today. He called tonight for about 2 minutes. He sounded good. They did start today BCT today.

the website has my son's platoon graduating on the 20th for BCT. Hmmm, kind of weird. Glad you got to hear from your son. My son said the first day was as bad as expected.

I meant wasn't as bad as expected.

I'm not a mom of a bct person, just a friend, They got started late and today I was told that they started basic training. They will get their address today to send home to their families.

hi debbie, yes i do his plt.5,delta co,1-329th he called tonight and i wasnt home, i missed him by 10 min. how do we do this i cant stand it my heart is breaking it two. i never thought he'd call on a friday night. i thought it was allways a sunday, my god i cant stop crying, he sounded so tired and sad he said he was hoping to talk to someone and wanted to know if i got his letter. i just cant wate to see him. where are you staying in georgia, any recomendations? i need to start making plans to see him on nov. 12th, it cant come to soon, talk to you later, katie

Should be soon though. Katie, sorry you missed his call, mine called grandma last night, because I was at work. I did get a letter from him yesterday too, but it was written while he was in reception last weekend. I am getting so excited to see him, counting down the weeks/days.

I think no! ) Anyway - I don't know what all this means, but my son's address says BD Co. 1-329th INF RGT. Oh and Debbie, I still can't figure out what website you are looking at and where. Hi Girls. it just keeps getting better, shawn called the house first and as i was coming in the house (i left my cell in the car) he called my cell. double whamy!!! i'll never do that again, allways have your cell on you at all times..downerduo i think are soldiers might be togeather...when is he graduating? proudmom do you know anything about your soldir's dates yet?? sorry i dont know your names. let me know. thanks, katie

I added call forwarding to my home phone and I forward it to my cell whenever I step out of the house. Also, I never used to keep my cell phone on, but now it's on all the time, just in case. Amazing how it changes our habits!

My son Jameson is also at Ft. Benning and heading to Ft. Sam for medic training after he graduates (on Nov. 6).

BTW - This is my first post here. Been writing letters to my son whom I haven't heard from other than the one 2-minute phone call. I don't have his roster number so I am hoping my letters will get to him okay.

Hi Katie - I'm Roni.
I just got another letter from my son today. He says he started basic on 9/11 and graduation will be in mid November. If my calculations are correct I am guessing the 13th. I have not received the "official" letter from the DS. Have you? My son sent his address. It is different from what the girlfriend gave us so now I'm confused and I doubt the first letters I sent him will get to him.
Maybe we can compare addresses.

Hi Roni, I just got my first lettet last friday the 19th. I never thought I'd get it.. and shawn did call that night but I missed his call.(that will never happen again) he did leave a message asking if i got his letters. and the letter for graduation. family day is on the 12th and grad. the 13th of nov. so dont worry you'll be getting your letter verry soon. hang in there, I know how you feel..katie

SO good to find someone with a son in the same company (or platoon or squad or whatever I am supposed to call it). Did you get the "official" letter from the DS? When did you receive it?
