Hi. I am in Missouri, too. My son left for Fort Benning Oct. 2 and I am not sure of graduation date. He will do AIT there, too. Have you gotten a phone call yet?

My son is also in 1-50, C company, 3rd platoon. He called tonight to say he's not doing well and the ds keeps threatening him with restarting. He says he won't restart.

I'm worried sick. He says they have a big test on Saturday that they have to pass and he knows he won't make it. He also sounded more mature than he's ever sounded before. I couldn't believe the change in him in just 3 weeks but I cried for an hour after we got off the phone.

i think my son is in 4th platoon. if you talk to your son soon just tell him he will be fine its the ds job to push then and to make threats to them. its to make our little boys tougher lol he will pass the test just keep telling him he can do and that will help. i havent talked to my son in awhile however i have gotten letters from him and he sounds more mature himself. they are really growing up. and i cry to everyday but its tears of joy. im so happy my son is growing up. its good to have someone else to talk to about this i was starting to think i was the only parent with a child in this company. keep in touch and it wont be long and they will be home.

Hello,

My son is at Ft. Benning as well, due to graduate the first week in Nov. (Bravo 2/47, 1st PLT.) On one of the other post on this website I read that some soldiers on BCT or OSUT fail every single PT test through out their training only to pass on the final test that really counts. BCT/OSUT is a building process. They only get stronger and stronger and more capable of doing more as the training goes on. It sounds like your son has the mental determination to succeed, the physical strength and endurance will follow. Tell him he is not the only one that has not passed a PT test, and to keep going, and show those DS's what he is really made of. That's what thay really are looking for as well, that internal strength.

Please let him know we are praying and rooting for him.

Tell him HOOAH from all of us Smile

Debbie

Hi debbie88 and missourimom -
Thanks for your replies. I heard from my son yesterday morning before church. He sounds great and will start his BCT this Friday. So he will have been in Reception Bat. for two weeks by then. He was very positive and we got to talk for about 15 minutes. I was so glad to finally hear his voice. Of course the intense training that your son's have already started hasn't begun for him. I pray continually for all our troops and their families. Let us know how the grad. and family day goes, Debbie.
Guess that I will get some information soon about his company and unit.
As they grow up and mature, they do make a parent proud.
God Bless! Peggy
