I am NavyDaughterWifeMom
I’m the mom of a Navy Chief with 21 years in who just who just got orders to deploy to Iraq.

He’s now on pre-deployment training with the Army..

Other than that, we don’t know much –
• how long and where he will be training
• when he will actually deploy
• How to reach him, send care packages, etc. now and when he goes “to the sandbox”
• Whether he will have leave time to say good-bye before he goes.
• What he will be doing (living conditions) once he goes

I get the idea he doesn’t know the answers and/or can’t say.

How can I learn what to expect and how to support him?

Any leads appreciated – I’m a professional researcher – just point me in the right direction.

If you want something said ask a Man; but if you want something done, ask a Woman! Margaret Thatcher

Should get the address as soon as he has it. It will be a APO address not FPO like in the Navy.

How long training is can vary I have heard from a few weeks to a couple of months. Where he trains again can vary

When he is going he will let you know he should hopefully get some info shortly.

Leave time not sure.

He's a Chief, he will tell you what he can - when he can! I wouldn't push him to do what he may not be able to do.
