I had recieved a letter from my son while he is in training at Ft.Benning and in the pamphlet he sent is a web site that i can go to and see some pics of his companys' training. I was so happy to see him and see that he is doing fine, although i was a bit worried because in one pic his right hand looks alittle swollen, but he was smiling anyways just thought i would let you all know if anyone would like to have this site please let me know...
I am so glad to hear other moms saying how hard this is for them and the crying they do. My son left for Fort Benning, GA today August 27, 2007. I would really appreciate that web site so I can hopefully see my son and what he is going thru. My son is 22 and this will be the worst time not hearing from him and not knowing. My husband found this site for us and I think this will be very helpful for us and maybe make this alittle easier. Is there anyone on here that their son/daughter left for Fort Benning, GA within the last week and basic should start around August 31, 2007 and in the Infantry boot camp? Keep our troops in your thoughts and prayers.
My son just left yesterday Aug 27, 2007. It already seems like he has been gone for along time. His graduation day should be around Dec 7, 2007. He has basic and AIT are together so all will be done at Fort Benning, GA. When will your son graduate?
My son graduates in Nov and the web site is www.foxtrot150.com now this is the web site for the F company 1st/50th and i'm sure if you email the 1st sgt he can tell you what other sites you might be able to go to. I am so excited about seeing my son, he looks as though he has lost some weight. I knew that was gonna happen most young soldiers during basic. good luck all and i hope you see someone you know
Could you send me the information about the website as I would enjoy seeing the photos. My son shipped out last week for basic at Fort Benning and I am trying to sort through all of the emotions. Just seeing photos of where he is would be great. Thanks Kari
foxtrot150 is the site i go to to see my sons platoon.now i'm not sure where everyones son is as far as conpany goes but i'm sure that if you send and e-mail to the 1st sgt he can tell you if theres a website for that company. good luck all and GOD BLESS
you may also want to try www.soldierschapel.info then click on the links on the top of the page that corresponds with the unit your son or daughter is in.
Have fun searching through the pictures! I loved looking through them searching for my son.

elainecruz, you mentioned that your son will be graduating Oct 4th, my son will have Family Day on the 6th. I will be going there on the 5th and staying till the 9th, he will be able to hang out with me for the weekend and has to return by the 8th at 6pm. I am so excited about seeing him. will you be going to see your son Graduate? This will be a great time for you all.
My son is graduting October 19. When I visited him on family day, I could not get over the bruises and bites from the training and the bugs. When I asked him how come he has so many bruises, all he said was that if you didn't have any your weren't trying hard enough. Yikes!! I wanted to put lotion on them and such, but oh no, he was dealing with it. They showed us a slide show with pics from their training...I guess it was a requirement that every person that came out of the gas chamber exercise threw up!
My son graduated from basic training in 2004 and just got promoted to Sgt. He is currently serving with the 82nd Airborne at Tallil Air Base in Iraq.
When we went down to his basic training graduation ceremony at Fort Benning, they had alot of stuff for sale, including a DVD with photos taken of his unit as it went through the training process. I think it was $10.00 and was very interesting. They didn't do anything like that when I went through Air Force Basic training during the Vietnam era.
Swollen hands and other injuries are not uncommon. My son spent several days out in the rain and was coughing blood when it was over, but still made it through. That kid is tough as nails and is currently going through some kind of competition for NCO of the year. Here is a picture from the DVD of his basic training unit.
Since we are on the subject of pictures, I did start a photos thread in the "Parents of Servicemembers" discussion group. Here is a sample: my son on laundry day in Iraq. I wonder how many of you ladies have tried that particular brand of laundry detergent?
