Any insight on how to act during mid-tour leave? I'd love some tips from parents (or soldiers) who've done this. Should we question him about life in A-stan or ignore the whole thing & make it a vacation? Signs & balloons at the airport, good or bad? (doesn't matter, I'm gonna do it!) I'm planning to take his lead, but he's always been very closed-mouth & stoic, and I'm sure he'll be even more so after months at a remote FOB. Anything that I absolutely should NOT do? I'm gonna try very hard not to cry & be too emotional, I promise! HOOAH!

let HIM decide . if he doesn't want a big thing made of it then respect his wishes. if he wants to talk about it, great. if not, don't push.
