at Ft Hood, I'd like to remind everyone to please not go off the deep end here. I am sure our thoughts and prayers are with everyone but let the rumors lie low until there is an official announcement.

Many of us know someone either from the boards or in our personal lives who is at Hood. Remeber: NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS. don't feed in to the hysteria or rumors that may abound over the next few weeks.

I am sure that those from the boards at Hood will get on when they can and let us know they are fine. In the meantime, those of you that pray, please do so for the Servicmembers who lost their lives today, their families and friends left behind, and for the gunman/men involved.

I am here at Fort Hood...My husband thank god left Monday for training down in San Antonio, We are safe. Our friends are safe...MY condolences to the 12 people killed and to the 31 people wounded, this is a very tramatic day for all of us. I am in awe of it all, this happened to our community that i thought was a pretty safe place. As of right now Fort Hood is still on Lock Down.

Please pray for everyone here.

Cathy

Lady Bones and all at Ft Hood,

I am a civilian woman but lived Military life for many years as a wife. I just wanted to say how sorry I am that this has happened and my prayers are with all of you there. I hope there are no more shooters on the base and that no one else gets harmed in any way. The best to you all- God be with you all there.

It is unthinkable that one of our own would attack other American service men and women, especially on American soil. Prayers for everyone affected…and we are ALL affected by this tragedy. Perhaps too much is being asked of all of us. We may need to slow down a bit, reset our priorities, and make the time to check on our friends, neighbors, and coworkers more frequently and genuinely, instead of wasting time in front of a screen, entertaining ourselves. The fact that the attacker was a psychiatrist makes this even worse. A man trained to help others deal with mental problems was the one who needed help most of all and didn't get it.

I am an old vet but even today as an enlisted man do not trust the top commanders. They often sacrifice lower commanders even when the evidence is otherwise. I would like to trust them but too many points they are self graifying. Ooh for Macarthur who loved the troops and did not hold Wianwright resonsible for the 86000 troops on the Bataan march. These officers often throw their boys to the wolves. Mc cristal, Patreaus. and Oderiene seem to be good commanders. the rest of them are ****
