My bf joined the army. He's training to be a truck driver. He's in basic training now in fort leornard wood missouri, he's from Illinois, where will they send him after training or will they give him an option of where they will go next?

I don't remember if it is in basic or ait or not, but I believe they make a "wish" list, of the bases they want to be stationed at. Now with that being said, they normally don't go by that, LOL. I might be wrong, but I believe your first duty station you really don't get to pick. He will get his orders sometime in AIT, towards the end, that will show where he is going. But he could go probably pretty much anywhere, with the job he has. Maybe someone will have a spouse in that job, but everyone I have talked to the first duty station was not on their wishlist.

And if it is still the same way the top of the class gets the pick of available orders. So, the better he does, the better his chances of getting a better set of orders.
