Hi everyone.
It seems I only get on here when I'm having trouble, but there really isn't anyone else to talk to. No one else knows how I'm feeling. No one that I know personally anyway. My husband's friend from the USMC has been re-called, re-activated, and will be deployed. Again. I'm terrified for him to have to go through that again. He is already screwed up from the last time he went(he watched a rocket fly past his head while he was on fire watch). I'm also terrified to get the mail, or open the door when someone knocks. I don't want DH to get that letter. I don't want him to have to go back. I started hyper-ventilating when I found out about his friend last night. Of course, DH wasn't home, so I was just freaking myself out. I didn't even know the corps was doing recalls. it just kind of started. Two people that DH was friends with, from his unit, have gotten letters. I imagine the other one got recalled as well, because it was the same letter that they got. "Report to Kansas City" on whatever day. If DH has to go back, I don't know what I will do. It was bad enought the first two times, and I'm not sure I can make through another. The worst part about this is that I don't know when I get to stop worrying about the mail or the FED-EX guy coming. I don't know when it will be over. When the "time" will pass. I'm going to be stressed for the next three years of DH's IRR status. AHH! *vent session over* Thanks for reading |

Super Member 'Save the cheerleader, save the world' Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God. I'm freakin' crippled now. My butt-knuckle is killing me. |
Well here's the thing. You said that you made it thru the firs 2 times---that says to me that you're more than capable of handling it a third time. You're in a panic over something that may or may not happen. Like my husband tells me, 'you don't do anything until you hear it directly from me. Not the mail, not someone's wife, not even the CO--ONLY from me'.
You handled it fine last time, and if need be, you'll do it again. "I swear to God I didn't do it!!!" |

Take a deep breath! Now let is out slowly.
There is no use in panicking about what may happen. I know it is on your mind, but to incapacitate yourself like this does no one any good. Like BAW said, you've made it through the others so you can get through this one if it comes to that. Make sure you have a good support system in place and hope for the best. You may want to speak with your doctor about these panic attacks too. Sgt Mom Everything becomes a little clearer, I realize what life is all about. You guys are right. I talked to DH, and he was upset because I was upset. He has a much more level head than I do. I've made up my mind to try my hardest not to worry about it anymore. There really is no point. Even if it does happen, there isn't anything I can do about it. I'm still scared out of my mind, but I'm not going to let it drive me crazy.
Thank you so much for helping talk me off my ledge. |

I'm glad that you are a little better.
Yeah, they always worry more about the spouse than the deployment. You already made it twice and if you have to do it again...I'm sure you'll be fine. Try to enjoy your time with him and don't waste it with negative thoughts. |
