one of my employees is shipping out for boot camp way sooner than expected - the folks at work really want to do something nice but we only have a few days left to plan now. Does anyone have some suggestions for what might be useful (or not allowed) for somebody just going in to the air force? any help is greatly appreciated, thanks Smile

There's not a whole lot that they're allowed to have in BCT. A gift card to Wal-Mart to get the few toiletries he needs to take or some phone cards would be awesome!

Phone cards are probably the best thing to get, because they really can't take a whole lot of stuff with them. I know my boyfriend had a few phone cards given to him, and they came in very handy.

phone cards are good. or even if you can get an AAFES gift card. Also, VISA has gift cards that you can get but there is a fee with them. At least here there are fees. Everything that he is allowed to bring to basic with him is written down for him, he can't bring anything extra. So the cards would be a great idea for when he has to go and buy odd things that he may have forgotten.

And of course a card, with many thank yous on it. Not just a signed name. That will probably mean the most. Something he can look at and remember he is doing a great thing.
