so im wondering what all they look at when doing a security clearance. im a little concered because the recruiter advised my husband to not give to much info and he also asked him basically to lie as to not hold up being prossed. he garentees all will be fine but im wondering if some off these issue will come up in the security clearance. my husband has never done and thing to break the law besides takeing his sweet time to pay some speeding fines. the issue is a scar on his face that he was asked not to talk about and if asked to say it came from when he was much younger. the problem is that that scar basically wrecked our credit. so im thinking that this is ganna come full circle. what should we do?
If he gets caught lying - kiss it all goodbye. Somehow or another the truth always comes to light and it's better to face the music now rather than later.

If your credit is TOO bad he may not pass the security clearance.
I agree, if its still on his credit report, he might not get the security clearance. I know in my DH's detachment, there was a guy that had several financial things come up, and he lost his.
