He has his CDL-A license and he scored a 49 on his ASVAB. But his recruiter said that it didn't really matter what he scored.

As long as he already had a CDL, he was qualified to sign on as a E4 and also receive a healthy sign-on bonus. (which I'm waiting to see if it's real or not)

Alvarez, please open a separate thread with your questions (Military 101 would be appropriate), as this is just an introduction thread and people don't check here for questions.

hello!

I've been a member on military.com since about the time my hubby joined the army but I didn't frequent for a long time and I lost my password and just recently came back.

Anyway, a bit about me- I'm Nichole and my husband is Neil, he's in Korea till October sometime (darn army keeps changing the date) He's been in about 2.5 years and just resigned for another 4 and is changing his MOS to 15J (I believe - helicopter mechanic) from 14T so we're off to Ft Eustis in March. We have a 3 year old son, TJ. I'm an air force bratt (sorta - i was raised by my grandfather who was in the air force) and all my uncles were various branches of the military so - its kinda my whole life lol.

I look forward to gettin to know ya'll!

Hello all!!!!!!!!! I need help trying to figure out the name of a certain organization that is designed to help with the Navy, or other Military Branches, I think! It is abbreviated starting with a U, I think there maybe a F in there somewhere. Supposedly it's something like Navy-Marine Relief Society. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi, I am a newbie, sort of, I posted on here several years ago but never got the chance to get really invovled due to several things going on in life. I am a second generation Navy Brat, both grandfathers were Navy, (paternal grandfather was a WWII vet), my father was Navy. Recently my mother married an Air Force Reserve Sgt. My family is so chock full of military it isn't funny! Personally I have chosen to go into public service, my field is emergency nursing, though I have taken a break because of a back injury and am now a domestic violence advocate, I am trying to return to my chosen field in the next year. I have two cats, a dog and about three years ago I met a wonderful man who has become my best friend and constant inspiration, he is in the process of re-entering the Military.

Hi all,

Just another "newbie" checking in as requested... even after 30+ yrs of parallel military and civilian careers. Never to late to learn something new, even after 38 yrs married to the same wonderful gal. I'll be the first to admit I don't have all the answers to the questions/issues, but still willing and able to provide some added value to all who might be interested.
