Will this be like beyond difficult?

its going to be hard, esepically depending on your career fields

and the fact your not married you do not get the abilit to try to apply for the same base

any suggestions on how to make it work?

i was thinking of buying laptops with webcams but that may just make me miss him more.

letters, phones, computers, and large savings accounts to travel to see each other.

It's doable, just hard and requires extreme comittment and understanding.

to be honest with you it is hard enough just being a spouse of a service memember. Your trying to join a different branch, if you love the other half i advise you all to sit down and evaluate if your relationship is strong enough to endure that change.

He wants me to go into college but i wanna join the military. Other than that we really are doing fine in this relationship he just thinks i'm gonna have it hard.

Know this is kind of funny too me. My girlfriend wanted to be a Marine Officer and Im going to be a army officer but we decided she would travel with me only place she cant go is too Iraq so its not that bad in all actuality. Being a officer in both branches is really hard i presume since they make it almost impossible to be together anyways. I dont know what too say I just know it takes alot of dedication and trust i would say just talk it out with him... Sometimes just a fear of losing the other that drives someone
