OMG Last night someone hacked into my paypal and was wipeing out my Checking account, I caught it just in time, Called my bank, called paypal for the unauthorized purchases, Thank God i did all the proper procediers when i found it. They some how got my paypal password added thier e-mail to my account and got into it. They were buying stuff from here in the US and Also Europe, So stuff was in US dollars and also Euro's. So you can just imagin how much was coming out of my bank account.

I changed my password's and deleted this persons e-mail from my account and now everything is in dispute. Paypal told me this morning it will take 7-10 days to get everything resolved.

My bank closed my credit/debit card right away so no more transactions will come through on it and refunded me what was already lost, Thank God!!

So just wanted to let you all know if you do have PAYPAL, keep an i on your accounts and change your password regulary so it won't happen to you.

So you can imagin i was a wreck!!!! This was so scary!

I think after this dispute is over with i'm closing paypal down, i don't need this to happen again.

Cathy

Tell me about it, The whole night was long...I could'nt sleep My oldest son who just got back from Iraq and is here visiting, said goodbye to his dad last week who headed to Iraq and now is having a hard time and drinking way to much. so i was online checking accounts, thats when i noticed it. After i cleared that up with paypal and my bank at about 3 am my oldest got sick, so i was up again....Then about 4 am someone was pounding on my door, i woke my other son up so i was not alone, it was some tow truck operater asking if we owned a dodge durango, we said no and he asked if it was our room mates...lol we have no room mates...lol He asked how long we lived here, we said aboiut a year. then he left.

Gosh what a night...lol

This is just a good reminder that all online activity needs to be monitored - it's not something Paypal specific. Any online shopping account where you have your purchase info saved for "easy check-out" could just as easily be hacked. There is definitely something to be said for the military's password requirements, too - at least 2 symbols/characters, at least 2 numbers, and letters. Glad you caught it and that your bank is cooperating!

I have no idea how they did it, i asked the paypal rep and he said if i had my paypal password the same as my e-mail password that might be how the thief got into it, they search passwords and then try that password with your paypal to see if it was the same, unfortunatly mine was Frown but i fixed that situation and i pray it does not happen again.

I'm glad you caught it in time. I'm sorry it has been so rough lately.

As long as the site allows, we use letters, numbers and symbols in our passwords. That is supposed to help make it harder to crack. You can use ones for Ls, $ or & for Ss and so on.
