This is a serious question, I actually want to know the answer to this...
I hope this does not offend anyone because it is not my intent. I just don't understand it.

Some of you might know about how General "Black Jack" Pershing tried to rid the Philippines of Islamic extremism in 1911, it's not a really good part of US history. Although the story is "Undetermined" by Snopes, I truly beleive it happened because I've heard of it way before the internet was even around.

Knowing the fears of Muslims concerning pigs, what happens if they die from getting the Swine Flu? Do they go to heaven? The reason I ask is we were talking about this at work, and many people world wide will die from this flu. How does this affect Muslims?...

Is it like the Catholic religion that if you divorce or commit any other major sins (suicide) that the church will not have anything to do with you? Does the Muslim religion see this as a disease or do they see it as being infected as a pig?

Again, I'm just trying to find the facts, does anyone have a Muslim background that knows this answer? Again, I don't mean to offend the anyone.

It is something that is interesting.

Talked to a friend who is Muslim. Some Muslims are okay with preparing it for meals for friends, employers, etc... but not actually eat it because that is what they are against. Others will not handle it at all no matter what. To die of the Swine Flu would be alright as long as they did not get it from the swine themselves but someone who has it the illness. They would still go to their afterlife.

There was an outbreak of Swine Flu in Malaysia several years ago and a lot of Malays are Muslim. they had to slaughter and burn thousands and thousands of pigs.

There are many disease mechanisms that humans share with animals, Syphilis being one, there are many vectors for diseases as well, such as mosquitos for malaria and yellow fever and some others. Cow pox, the source for the vaccine for small pox, comes from the observation that people who have had cow pox don't get small pox, this is what enabled development of small pox vacine.

The recombination of three differing dna structures and their recombining in this present form is a fairly common occurence in nature but the usual outcome is a non viable life form due to too extreme a form of mutation. There is a growing knowledge base for viral forms which, believe it or not are not alive! They need a "host" in which to survive and grow. When the host dies they go dormant. This is not such a case. This happenstance type of occurence, led to a great deal of debate and many accusations of the H.I.V. structure being "engineered" by the C.I.A. to wipe out back Africa and gangs in L.A. Yeah I know, but there are still a lot of fools who believe this crap!!!

So with all this info, you can now see that there is no stigma at all in catching this strain of flu, as it is not "Pork"!!

First off it is a common misconception that swine flue comes from actual pigs. This is not the case, a pig has nothing to do with the swine flu and you do no get it, as far as I've been told, from pigs.

Secondly, I am deeply saddened if you have been lead to believe that Catholicism wants nothing to do with "major sinners". On the contrary, the Church teaches love and toleration of all. If some within the Church have not shown this please simply understand that the Church is full of broken people (myself included), it always has and always will, and we must look past that to the love and forgiveness that the One who founded it offers.

Not to get off track here, but there is indeed a swine flu that does come from swine-hence there is a vaccination for the animals to protect them and others from this flu.
