Welcome one, welcome all. Drill said it best, we are not here for debate. If you need that, I'd be happy to oblige in the Point/Counterpoint forum!

Even if you hold no particular religion, you are welcome. Even if you believe there is no God and want to understand why we all do, you are welcome. We just ask that all are behaved and respected.

There may be a large number of Christians in here, but do not let that dissuade you from posting if you are not. There are many visitors of different faiths that stop in, and contribute without fear of bashing, and they bring just as much to this place as anyone else.

PRINCIPALS FOR BIBLE STUDY
1. The Word of God is Jesus Christ, and the words of the Bible tell us about that Word. Therefore, when we study the words of the of the Bible we always look behind, in, and through those words for God's Word-Jesus Christ.
2. No Christian has a monopoly on understanding either God's Word or the words of the scripture. This includes biblical scholars and the most unlearned Christian peasant. All of us must listen to one another as we seek to understand the richness of God's gifts.
3. We must assume everyone has Christian integrity and not accuse one another (no matter how unusual are the opinions) of being unchristian..
4. We must further assume that we will arrive at different understandings of portions of Scripture and that will not disturb God as much as it will some of us.
5. Few of us will know Hebrew or Greek, and we therefore need to use a variety of English versions to try to under stand the text.
6. While we accept differences between us, we do not feel that those differences are unimportant, or that they should be ignored or treated as if they did not matter.
7. Different biblical understandings can remain between us, but we can still be warm Christian friends. In fact, as we grow to better understand our differences, we can grow in our appreciation of one another.

Let me say that anyone that wants to learn can do so here without fear of retribution. Ask all the questions you want someone will answer you. The only thing I ask is that you do not bash our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ or His Word. That alone will get most people hot here. But we being like-minded will only tell you to tone it down a bit unless you attack us. Then be forewarned we do bite. No No don't be scared we are all tough-skinned and ready to answer your questions in a very forthright manner. So ask and don't fret because the Word of God says to Ask and you shall Receive.

Bill, this is your reply to me telling you I'm not a Christian. Wow, that was so long ago! I was surprised to find that I wrote this back than! I just decided to read some of these and bam there's mine! I try to reply to everyone as long as they are polite. Here I am. Thanks for the welcome Bill and to everyone else.

I believe in God and Jesus, but I don't agree with some Christian views (But I do agree with some). I love religion and believe man would not have survived without a faith of anykind. I look into other religions and agree or disagree within certain aspects within them (Like Buddhism and with recarnation.) I do not know what would be the political name for my beliefs, but I just call myself spiritual (Because my mom has taught me a lot of my current faiths and I think spiritual faith is true to my heart ).

I respect everyone and their religion. I believe in God and Jesus like I said and pray to our Father every night. God bless America and live strong.

If you believe in God and Jesus, your considerd a Christian? That sure wouldn't bother me, but I always though you'd have to agree with the Bible (Which I believe lists both true and false points). I'm confused!
