COURAGE & DISCOURAGEMENT

We all get discouraged from time to time, and feel the weight and pressure of worldly problems pulling us down... we feel like we're about to give up... we just can't take it anymore.

God's word tells us not to lose courage, not to become DIScouraged, throughout the Bible. Receive strength and courage from Christ for it is freely given when you ask.

SCRIPTURE:

Deuteronomy 31:8
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God willbe with you wherever you go."

Psalm 31:24
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

John 16:33
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Psalm 4:8
I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you along, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 46:1-2a
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.

Philippians 4:13
I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me).

Hebrews 13:6
So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

WHEN YOU ARE AFRAID - READ PSALM 46:1-3.

I often feel discouraged. I often cry out to God to comfort me in my time of distress......... and He is there. I don't know that I have the words to explain the comfort I feel through that still small voice.

Sometimes I just feel it in my heart, the words Christ spoke to the sea in the midst of the storm: BE STILL.
