Hi guys, I know, I'm a stranger these days. Something I need to rectify. But I have been asked to post a request from Cathy, and I am more than happy to oblige.

Our very wet and mild spring and summer here in Colorado has given way to conditions perfect for fires. With the monsoon season on us, lightning sparked fires are pretty regular. That being said, the area that Cathy lives in is currently experiencing their 5th fire of the past week, and this one is being a bugger. It was reported around 1130 this morning, but I'm not sure if that's when it started.
Reverse 911 has gone out, Cathy is in the evacuation zone. She's not forced to be out just yet, but she expects to be told to get out very, very soon. It's not that this fire is large...yet.
The problem is that it is in an area that is difficult to fight and is also populated. The good news is we've got monsoon storms rolling in right now with heavy rain, the bad news is they contain a bunch more lightning.
Please keep her in your prayers. She's got all my contact info and will keep me updated. I will, in turn, be here to keep you all updated. Thanks, everyone, in advance!!
Denise

I caught a very quick update last night around midnight that the fire was 20% contained at that time. Some people were being let back home. It was a good night for a fire to sit or lay down, and today is a bit cooler, so that's good

Just caught another update that it's now 40% contained. T-storms should be starting to fire up now, which is both good and bad. But I'd think they'll have the fire contained probably by tomorrow morning.

I haven't talked to Cathy, but I know she's been busy doing what she can to help out. As soon as she's around, you'll all know. Thanks for the prayers!

Will keep her and all the residents there in my prayers. Wish I was closer so I could do more.

Here's Cathy's update tonight:

Fire is expected to be contained tomorrow. Were able to cut back on those fighting it tonight. Following words are NOT intended to be a critisism of other fire dept.s Terraine, fuel etc. all different. Just want to say though that our voulunteer firefighters have to be some of the best. Last year we had numerous 'small' wild fires, and technically the Glen Haven area has had a total of seven or eight the last week.

So that is good news!! Thanks for the prayers!!
