Last year, a new mosque went up in the community next to ours. I was wondering if there are any Muslims here who could give me insight on why they built a 13' high fence with razor wire around it.
There are lots of events there, loads of families, and it struck me as a bit odd to build such a high fence around it. I'd ask them myself, but I can't get near the place! Is this common practice these days when building new mosques?
I'm going out on a limb here to take a guess as I dont know for sure. However, I would assume that due to the political and social climate regarding hatred towards Muslims that they feel the need to protect themselves and their property. It is their right.
i would agree with the PP-the sentiments against Moslems in this country can run quiet high-while it is not a "standard" practice im sure they have some concern for the saftey of their members when they worship there.
