Is it considered improper to after working for 2-3 weeks to put your two week notice in for a job in a different location?

Reason i ask is because there is a job in my area that i can apply for but i dont want to live here. Im actually applying for jobs on the east coast (im in Arizona), but i think it would be easier for me to get a job here and now than on the east coast because i would be in the system by then.

So is that a bad thing to do?

It is considered bad form to accept a job and then retract your acceptance. This is not the way to go with a federal job - it will come back to haunt you. It is not the way to go for a real job in business. If you need to work until you get your great job, find a short time contracting opportunity.

I am an IT executive, so I can tell you this will screw your career if someone finds out.

You have 3 choices:

1. Take a job and then apply for another job after a year or a transfer.
2. Find a temp job.
3. Apply long distance and plan to do phone interviews and maybe a trip to interview.

so far looks like plan 3 is a no go. i keep getting "your resume was reviewed but was not considered because you dont live in the area."

you know, i dont mind relocating at my own expenses but dont reject me cause im not in the area. do i have to write "its ok if im not in the area code, if you hire me ill fly there myself!???
