Sergeant Grabass on deck, Top. How I ended up in the S-3 shop of the 5th Comm Bn in RVN 66-67 is a such a military secret that I don't even know how the hell it happened. All I know is that I was bored with Base Comm at Lejeune and had this testosternone-fueled 20 year-old's erotic vision of the fleshpots of the Orient, so I volunteered for WestPac and ended up at beautiful Camp Hoa Long near Marble Mountain.

I have the tin cans. Who has the string?

BTW, Top - Any chance of some R & R to Bangkok anytime soon?

2851, Aviation Radio Repairman 1974-78
MCRD PI 1974
MCCES MCB 29 Palms 1974-75
MCTSSA MCB Camp Pendleton 1975-78

I sure wish I had been around to see the old AN/TYA-11s go off to the 'junk yard'! They probably were even able to screw-up just sitting there.

Hey TONYNKY, I'm sure you remember the AN/TRC-75 I would go out with air with that radio I liked it. When I was in Gitmo and picked up NCO I chose to give a class on it.

I spent nearly all of my time working on AN/GRC-112s, AN/GRC-134s (inside AN/TYA-11 and TYA-12 Communication Centrals) and/or AN/GRC-135As (semi-portable). Also worked with AN/GRD-11 Radio Direction Finders. Spent a little time with AN/TSC-15 comm huts and the AN/TRC-75.

Anyone at MCCES MCB 29 Palms 1974-75? Any other 2851s? I was in ARRC Class 6-75 and am still in contact with C.B. Chandler, ARRC-7-75. Looking for Scotty Shaw, ARRC 5-75 and D.P. Hibbard, ARRC 8-75.

Or stationed at MCTSSA MCB Camp Pendleton 1975-78?
