im at mct right now gonna head off to 29palms for my mos. i was wonder does anyone know how long the school may be for? and if its longer than three months would my wife and kids be able to move over there not stay with me but live on base or something? if anyone can help it would really help me out a lot..

It is only about 6-8 weeks long.

Be warned, almost eveything you learn there will be obsolete within 18 months. Unless tehy are teaching the MRC-142C.

Hi! speaking as the mom of a marine that just left 29 palm's his mos was approx. 6 month's long.If I remember right it depend's on what your mos is his friend's was only 3 month's long, that enlisted w/ him.But my son's was alot longer because he was going for something different. I can't remember what the rules were on houseing concerning your wife & children? it's been awhile since my son was in boot camp & so on.He just got stationed in N.C. which is what he wanted.He wanted to be close to home so he could come home & visit more often on leave's.We live in Naples,Fl.so Panama would have been closer & he kinda hoped for there but this is Good too! He's at Camp Le Jeune & he like's it alot.He's trying to decide where to go next,since he want's to go either into central intel. or guarding an embassy somewhere ,or even into an F-16 fighter training program.He will be re-enlisting after his 3 yr stint he's required to do.He say's that he need's to be an officer to go through to central intel. & I believe the other's as well.He has made his mind up to stay until he retire's so whatever you decide God Bless ,& SEMPER FI!!
