Fellow Mariens I'm going crazy here on the internet trying to figure out whether or not the MOS 2818 still exists. I'm attempting to do a move to the ground side from the air wing and I need a little info on 2818 and 2847, I am aware of what they are, I have access to the MOS manual, I am more interested in whether or not 2818 exists at all and how motivating MOS 2847, including how often they tend to deploy. Thanks Marines and Vets.

WTF is a 2818? I don't have an MOS manual and am too lazy to look it up. Welcome aboard, new guy, check in at the Barracks.

2818 went the way of the dodo. It got folded into 2847 in early 2000's.

Maintenance guys tend to only deploy when their unit does. There is less call for techs in country than for operators or trigger pullers. But then my unit has a bunch of techs deploying as part of a provisional MP company.
