I noticed on above my avatar it says basic training. On some others it reads "member." When does it change from BT to member? Just wondering. Thanks.

Once you reach 50 posts you can request a 'tagline' by posting a request in the "Tagline Requests" sticky at the top of the forum.

I am a bit confused. I have been "member" staus for a while now but today I notice I am back at "basic"?? Can anyone clarify?

there is a major meltdown within the system. this may be a sign/symptom.

I have been a member for a long time. As per other posters on this subject, I, too, was demoted to "Basic Training." Thank you for the informative reply with regard to system problems causing this unfortunate and confusing anomaly.

I will pass this on to the Forums Administrator maybe he can light a fire under the techies to get this fixed...eventually.

I found out the answer..

Powers of far higher rank than myself and The Administrator made the decision to change the minimum number of posts to rank up in karmas. one now requires 250 posts before one graduates Basic Training.

However, I stand by my requirement of a mere 50 posts to request a tagline. you can request that in the sticky at the top of this forum.
