Hi All,
Current Army intel O3 here looking for some answers! First off, my wife is very interested in applying for the CG OCS program.
She has a BBA in Information Systems (Commo) from UTA in Texas, she is very physically fit, extremely driven, has zero legal issues, and is extremely motivated. (this Tx gal does not give up easy!).
She wants to apply for CG OCS after hearing me discuss at length my desires to apply for the Direct Commission Intel Officer Program.

Our questions are as follows:
-How successful is the USCG's co-location program? I know the Army is USUALLY pretty good about keeping couples together at the same base.

-Do you all think she has a decent chance of getting into OCS? By that I mean, is it "snowball's throw chance in hell?" or are the odds a little better? We're hearing alot on these forums about how picky CG OCS is and how seemingly impossible it is for a civilian non-ps to get into the program.

-Lastly, I graduated from Norwich, I am an Army intelligence officer, with a Master's in Strategic Intelligence, 3 operational tours to Iraq, and about 8 years in the Army with a strong desire to serve in the USCG. (actually both of us have those same feelings to serve in the USCG). Am I competitive? I think I am based on what the website says the requirements are. I understand if accepted I'd take a large jump back in rank. (I'll be a major when I get out - jumping to LT JG or first lieutenant!)

Please advise! Thanks for your time.

As per the co-lo, depends a lot on if you would still be green. Really limits the possibilities and makes the comms between the folks responsible for assignments more difficult. With Officers, other items get involved such as career paths and experience. You MAY need to choose between career and co-lo. Think about it, our entire officer corp is just barely larger than one brigade. The number of Officers in the Intel program is very small.
