Check the Recruiter's Desk forum. Also check out the gocoastguard.com web site for information about the DCIO (Direct Commission Intelligence Officer) program.
I was hoping you could provide some insight along the same lines. Im currently slotted for OS A school in January. When I joined there was no IS rating and my primary career objective was going intel. My plan was to obtain my masters in intel coupled w/ 4 years as an OS and apply for DCIO. Ive heard from a couple of sources that this program is mainly geared towards bringing in "outside" talent into the CG. Is this true? Do I even have a chance, and if I do what are some other things that I can do to help acheive this goal?
I'm in a similar situation. I left a message for my local recruiter but haven't heard back as of yet. I separated from the CG (I was an AET2) about 6 mos ago to finish school. I'm nearly complete with an Intel degree and looking to apply for DCIO.
Any info on top of what I can find on the web would be fantastic.
