I have a nephew that wants to join up.
I served in the late 80's.
He wants to go AW, not sure what they call it now. I researched, I guess there are a few different flavors now.
Basically, he wants to be a SAR swimmer.

Question is, what is an "average" day like in a sea-deployed helo squadron for a "wet" AW?
Anyone that actually does this, or has seen what they do, info would be great.
It's not that I don't trust recruiters, but I think they told him he sleeps all day, eats whenever he wants, etc.

So, what do they do when not flying, how often they fly, types of ops if on a CVN or small boy.

Any info would be great, my memory isn't helping him much, and I'm sure times have changed alot.
