After 4 years active, I am looking into an AGR slot. The career counselor I am working with says it should be no problem to get into any reserve unit then put in a packet for AGR. I have fallen for the BS before, not about to do the same again. My current MOS is 14E, no reserve jobs in Ohio for that. The AGR position I want is 35F, but there are currently no 35F reserve slots available. Any advice would be great. Is there an AGR recruiter assigned to my area???? Is there someone at HRC I could talk to? The numbers I found in other posts on the forum have non-working extensions listed. Thanks!

I can only tell you how it work for me. I joined the unit and apply for an AGR job and was hired with in two months. This was in Wisconsin nor Ohio. I spent 16 years with only 4 months without full time pay.
There is (at the time I did this) that you can not join as an AGR, but must be in the unit that you apply for. Understand that AGR jobs are onlt good for two to four years at a time, and you can be released early if they want you gone. Hoe this helps. |
