Hello, I am performing my yearly 2-week duty coming up very soon, and I also have my semester of college classes starting while I am away. I will be missing the first two weeks of my class due to my service.

I have attempted to contact my instructor multiple times to inform him of my absence but he has not responded. I am nervous that he may drop me from the class if I am not there.

Am I protected from being dropped from the class by the SSCRA or any other Federal Law? I tried searching the SSCRA but it doesn't mention anything about that.
I know that my employer cannot fire me, but i don't know if the same applies to school.

One person told me that the instructor could drop me from his class but the school would not be able to charge me for the class in this situation. Is that true, or am I protected from being dropped?

Any information would be helpful, including links to official information about this so i can send it to the Dean's office and the instructor.

Thanks!
