My husband has been an AGR NCO for 11 years and is thinking on submiting a packet for Direct Commission. Since he's AGR he'll be forced to leave the AGR program as soon as he accepts the commission so about how long will he have to wait untill getting an officer's position in the AGR program again, if he's applying for an engineers XO position? A retention NCO told him engineers are on demand and that it was the fastest route to get back in to the AGR program but he didn't tell him how much we had to wait to go back in. We have children in the DoD school system and one of them is enrolled in the EFMP so I wouldn't want for her to get affected because of this.
