i surely wish someone could help me or put me in the right direction. my husband gave 29 years navy and 15 dod merchant when he died i was informed all i was entitled to was the sbp which we paid for, they claimed no basic life for dod or navy and my sbp was split into so much ss and so much dic one was 635 and 725 i kept inquiring that there must be some life ins benefits from one or the other as he became disabled working for dod his death was accidental,although he was collecting disability from dod. they made me pay back 10,500. and ive no other benefits, ive contacted all i know but got no where,finally gave up as i had no were to turn tired of being hung up on and told ill get back to you, oh thars not right, give me your number and well get back to you 12 years later im still waiting(haha) can anyone give me any info or help
Do I ever sympathize with you!!!...I've been married to two diff Vets...My last passed Dec.7th this past year. Have you tried a Veteran's advocate??Maybe they could help you. My situation seem to be too complicated for HQ to understand. I still have 0. (I just wrote a letter in the Veterans Sound off area) Good luck. Darlene E.
