RE: http://www.military.com/opinion/0,15202,179343,00.html
I thought you column was well written and I did not vote for McCain. But I did serve in the military for a long period of time and yes if McCain could have made a few getures as to how he would be different than Bush I may have vote for him. So keep writing the way you are because I think you hit pretty close to the truth. |

Sarah,
I bet you're upset that this moron Palin did not become a VP too. I'm also sure that you completely support her "foreign policy"... Oh wait... She didn't have one... She could berely put together a simple sentence. Military woman, who served in Iraq and Afganistan... unlike you. |

Dear previous poster,
You obviously completely missed the point of the article all together. You should also try to educate yourself on the issues before attacking someone you don't even know! Best Regards, McCain Supporter, and military spouse of a loved one who served in Afghanistan and is currently in Iraq. I bet you are one of those people that wants everything handed to them on a silver platter. |

And the saga continues...
What I will remember most about this election is the utter hatred and personal attacks on both sides of the political line. Yes, politics will always be controversial, but I wish people would stop ASSUMING things based on what one says or writes. Just because I wasn't happy about Sarah Palin doesn't mean I am a "bleeding liberal tree-hugger", and just because I thought McCain would have made a good president doesn't mean I am a die-hard conservative who wants to let the poor starve and freeze to death. I found this article well written, but unfortunately people will not read beyond key words. Instead they just take a phrase and use it as an "See, I knew it" tool. I had a conservative lady here, who claimed ALL military votes McCain. I dared correcting her, saying that while MOST military will vote McCain, there will also be some who will vote for Obama, and rightfully so, it's their right as citizens. The following wave of hatred coming my way was incredible. Not only was I named a "bleeding liberal", no, she also told people that my husband surely is one of those people who disrupt the service of everyone by whining and moping to their commanders, and who will do anything to hinder the mission, ultimately endangering his unit... My husband voted for McCain, I couldn't vote yet (still in the process of Naturalization), but it didn't matter. To just assume that my husband is a bad soldier because I dared saying the truth just floored me. Now this was just one person, I can't imagine what you must endure, but I sure hope you keep your chin up and the pen going. There are many people out there who love to read your thoughts on life in general and the military life in particular. |
