Minus the sex addiction, it was a pretty successful administration.

Ohhh yeah, we're going to have change. If Obe messes with the VA, military benefits, or the strength of our military, we're in trouble. If he pulls out our military from Iraq and Afgan, the bad guys will take over the middle east and I won't go into those results. The only thing that keeps Russia or China from nuking us is what we have. I personally think Obe feels about the military just like the Clinton's, but we'll see--hope I'm wrong. I do believe that in 6 mos to a year, the Dems who voted him in will start beating their heads against the wall wondering what in the world did they do b/c do you know anyone who has zippo experience jump into a high power job w/o re-inventing the word screw-up ? We shall see.

Oh yeah, it's starting.....the Today show, as unoriginal as MSM gets, was questioning why Obama ran on a platform of "change" and "we're outsiders" and has so far proposed a lot of Clintonistas for cabinet positions.

Yup, so far 31 out of 47 cabinet positions have been handed to the old guard of Clinton workers.

Some change. Roll Eyes

I don't recall him ever running on a platform of "changing" cabinet positions to people no one has ever heard of.

Some kids in the UK had a recent field trip to a grocery store and while I am sure the visit was great, the parting gift they received was not. A group of 42 eight- and nine-year-olds visited Sainsbury's, a local grocery chain, and when it came time to leave, they were each given a book to take home. Books are good -- but not this particular book. It is titled Change The World For A Fiver and is intended to inspire people to change the world one small action at a time.

One example of a small thing one might do to change world: save water by bathing with a friend. That particular section included illustrations of suggested sexual positions to try while sharing the tub. Other world-changing tips include shaving in intimate places, streaking, talking to strangers and handing out your phone number to five people on the street.

Obviously, giving this book to the kids was a mistake. "This was a well-intentioned mistake. It is a very nice book about how to make the world a better place but it is not targeted at children," said a spokesperson for the store.

So your argument is that just because he is not actually doing anything different doesn't mean he's not bringing change? A classic example of argumentum ad ignorantiam Roll Eyes

I've got to give him credit for advance planning ... nothing like experience.

Another Clintonista. Perhaps when Obama said "change" he really meant "change back".

Since the coins are Euros, I indeed believe in them more than the Greenback.

Why all your "ifs"? Why not look at Obama's actual proposals for the military and for foreign affairs.

President-Elect Barack Obama announced additional key White House staff on Sunday in the latest round of appointments as the Democrat's transition team works to fill out the senior ranks of his administration.

Pete Rouse will serve as senior adviser to the president, and Mona Sutphen and Jim Messina will both serve as deputy chiefs of staff.

"These individuals are important additions to a team with the experience and ability to help our nation overcome pressing challenges at home and around the world," Obama said in a press release.

Rouse -- Obama's chief of staff while in the U.S. Senate -- has worked for various members of Congress for more than 30 years, including former Democratic leader Tom Daschle, whom he served for 19 years.

As Obama's chief of staff in the Senate, Rouse had a critical role in helping to launch Obama's 2008 presidential run.

Mona Sutphen is a member of Obama's transition team, and has been managing director of Stonebridge International, a strategic consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. Sutphen also was a foreign service officer and worked on the National Security Council in the Clinton White House.

Jim Messina -- Obama's national chief of staff during the presidential campaign -- is currently the director of personnel for Obama's transition team.

Thanks to the Contract with America which compelled Clinton to move center to be re-elected and, among other things, decrease capital gains taxes to enhance economic performance(individual rates were already at less-ridiculous levels, thanks to the '86 tax reform). With jacdaksses controlling the Congress, that would have never occurred.

Obama, like Clinton, is a middle-class American. It looks he will move the country and Congress toward the center with some restrictions on corporate abuse. We can survive anything with a little common sense.
