Uh...the DOW went up several hundred points for a couple of days, before it started to fall again.

Is that because of Obama, or does he only get "credit" when it goes down?

Two car dealerships close to where I live just closed their doors and about 120 people are out of work. One car dealership said they were like $16 million in the red. It disgust me knowing that these banks and credit card companies caused this problem. It is sad that our President did nothing about it and I'm afraid this problem may be bigger then Obama thinks it is. It is going to get much worse before it gets better. The only good thing that might come out of this is that the people that lost just about everthing might have learned their lesson from all of this. If you want it but don't need it then don't get it.

I hate to concur on this, but you've pretty much summed it up for me as well!

And I agree that it's (not only) bigger then PE Obama thinks it is, but bigger than ANYBODY thinks it is!

Wallstreet is reacting to the feel of the sunshine pump being disconnected. No longer can the banks and investment groups that got us into this mess hide behind closed doors (or in AIG's case, take a sabatacal) and pat themselves on the back.

Obama has said we need to fix this....and its gonna hurt. Its not the first time this country has had to pull itself up by its bootstraps. Suck it up and prepare for hard times while we dig our way out of this 8 year squandering of a huge budget surplus. Its important to our kids that we don't leave them with a lifetime of debt.

unluckily one can not put all the blame on the banks and "big" business..I think people have been living beyond their means for the last 20 years..rather than base their buying on income, they went into credit mania..people felt and feel they deserve their houses, cars, etc..you have to live within the budget of your means..one has to take some responsibility for themselves at some point..personal responsibility for a lot of people has gone by the wayside..I just hope sooner rather than later we can all start to bring our country up out of this mess...

While personally never having a warm and fuzzy about the President-elect to lose, I'd say our economic woes can be traced back to a comment made by Mother Teresa when she spoke at Harvard in 1982. She said that the United States was one of the most morally and spiritually backrupt countries in the world. When a nation turns its back on God, evil will prevail.

Folks, posting in all caps does not give your point validity, it makes you look like a fool.
Pres(E) Obama has had that title for nine days as of this post. He is not personaly responsible for all of the country's woes.
So if criticizing Pres Bush in any way counts as BDS, what do we call this rabid and frankly pathetic hatred for Pres(E) Obama that has suddenly popped up?

It is no more complex then this: The dem party bought and paid for votes with the tax dollars of working Americans. Bill Clinton FORCED banks ( and for certain the banks didn't put up enough of a fight) to make loans to low income people who would NEVER be able to repay the loans. Several GOP members stood up and tried to fight this, only to be shot down. Bush made weak ineffective attempt to stop this..

The GOP watched the DEMS buying the votes of poor people and instead of fighting it, they went right along, for the most part.

Well, now the solution is easy: LET THE BANKS FAIL. LET THE AUTO MAKERS FAIL.

In the short term that is going to hurt. It is NOT going to win votes.

But it is not only the BEST way, it might be the ONLY way out of this short of WWIII.

Instead our "fearless" leaders are acting like the hacks they are and attempting to throw unthinkable amounts of cash at a problem that cannot be solved with any amount of money.

On top of that Obama wants to RAISE taxes on business?

The perfect storm to destroy America.

There is nothing EVIL about our current problems.

As for Mother Teresa her policies did more to HURT the people of India then any other person in history. Because of her and her misguided efforts millions of people are in poverty today, millions of people suffer from needless diseases, and millions of people are dead.

It's going to take at least 1-2 years for President Obama to fix Bush's mess.

Pointless wars, Osama Bin Laden uncaptured, massive deficits, debt = the GOP Legacy.

The Dow Jones Industrials went off 1,000 within two days of the election and is off 1,400 now.

Pulling the wool over the peoples eyes won't be as easy now as it was when he was running!

It's the dem's mess and Obama won't be able to fix it.

Pelosi and gang will rule and the 1 trillion give away won't happen!

And the economy will go further in the tank after Carters and Clintons give aways!

Lending money to people that didn't have the means to repay was a Democratic blunder!
