If you listen to the debate again more closely, you will hear his comment in its entirety: "I'll bet you, you may never even have heard of them before this crisis."

I suggest that should you decide to enlist in the Marine Corps, you pay closer attention than that at boot camp. Otherwise it will go very badly for you AND your recruit training platoon.

Sorry, I don't drink Kool Aid... that's for the Obama lemmings who can't admit the 'one' hasn't a clue, a plan or articulate his beliefs, values or opinions without a carefully scripted teleprompter to keep him on track.

Lemmings - lol. Nice.

But your post is revealing in a way I'm sure you didn't intend. "Lemmings" are supposedly little critters that commit mass suicide for no apparent reason...following each other right off the side of a cliff. So by calling Obama supporters, "Lemmings" - you're clearly making a comparison here to make your point.

The problem?

Lemmings don't do that. The idea that they do, was a sham perpetrated by Disney (amongst others) in order to sell a movie. They wanted to make a movie showing lemmings jumping off a cliff, and so they herded them off the cliff to film it and make their point.

Thus, by calling Obama supporters "Lemmings", you very accurately label us as people who have been misprepresented by people like you. Wink

I apologize for not exactly quoting his statement, I figured most people would realize that this was not the full statement, and the portion I paraphrased was meant to explain my interest in his insinuation about the young gentlemen.

A young man who goes on national television, a heavily screened segment at that, to ask questions of the current Presidential candidates would most likely know what Freddie and Fannie was even before the crisis. Insinuating that this young man did not know who had control over America's multi-trillion dollar mortgage market only looks bad on McCain's part and exemplifies his condescending and arrogant tone during last night's debate . That is all I intended to point out in my previous post, I apologize if you misunderstood.

I also apologize if I gave off the impression that I would not pay attention during boot camp based on my thread replies to an internet forum during a Presidential debate.

I watched the whole debate, Obama got in a couple unanswered jabs but McCain won IMHO. To tell the man that he probably had never heard of Fannie or Freddie I did not see as condensending, most people have'nt heard of them before this current situation. Obama did okay, McCain did better. Now the media will prop up Obama once again and the "handout, ME crowd" types will follow lock step.

I really dislike " ME " people. Everything is always about them, like a kid looking for the biggest piece of pie...wheres mine, wheres mine, wheres mine,,,,,sit down and be quite you little f-ck-r.

Just as Senator McCain intimated to the young gentleman, I was unaware that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac owned half of the mortgages in this country until the crisis began. I don't consider it condescending to assume that those outside of the beltway and Wall Street were ignorant of that fact.

Oh, give the guy a break. Look who he has to deal with? I bet Palin never heard of Freddie or Fannie before last week! Razz McCain probably believes that Palin truly represents the "typical" "main street" American and thinks we're all that stupid.

John McCain is still a Warrior, not a Soldier but a True Warrior to be Honored, I would have loved to have seen him as our next President.

Study: Nearly all recent McCain ads were negative

By SCOTT BAUER, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 1 minute ago

MADISON, Wis. - Nearly every TV ad Republican John McCain ran last week was negative, compared to just 34 percent of those by Democrat Barack Obama, according to an analysis released Wednesday.

The harsher tone in McCain's ads mirrors the sharper attacks he and his running mate Sarah Palin have been making on the campaign trail as polls show Obama opening up a lead.

This is pure desperation on McCain's part.

Then by that means...when the Dems started attacking Palin just as soon as she was nominated VP would mean that the Dems were deperate.

Anbar,

This would be a valid point if there was an equivalency.

Here we have the Presidential and VP CANDIDATES going negative in personal stump speeches and running negative ads.

The Dem 527's, bloggers, pundits, supporters certainly had some negative things to say about Palin when she was "sprung" upon America (except for Limbaugh listeners).

But those are two very different things UNLESS you can provide some quotes from Obama and Biden "attacking" Palin.

Then, THAT would substantiate your point.
Cool

itismarine,

A minor point, but when you say McCain "intimated" I don't see it. He assumed the man had not heard of Fannie and Freddie before the recent crisis, NOT how much of the mortgage debt they held. At least that is what he said.

I'm not taking any major offense about it, but it did come across condescending. Had it been me, I would have corrected McCain loud and clear...and respectfully.

Cool

MHO

I yawned more than I nodded or shook my head. I didn't feel that either candidate was animated, nor did either answer the questions in an acceptable manner. As a McCain ticket supporter, I was extremely disappointed, though not unexpectedly so.

The VP debate was much more engaging. I felt that both Gov. Palin and Sen. Biden did extremely well, answering the questions without ambiguity and to the best of their ability. I would be much more interested in seeing them square off again than I would be Senators. McCain and Obama.

In the end, it's the same old politics I've learned to accept disgust with. Everyone is touting change, but there will be no change no matter who wins. You and I, the people, will remain divided, I'll still be unemployed, my retirement package and Social Security will still be endangered, and crooks will still lead the nation.

I mean no offense to anyone here, but if you REALLY believe that either of these candidates had an epiphany and is going to bring this nation back on its feet, you're sadly lacking knowledge in the finer points of politics.

Life goes on...

In the latest version of Palin's troopergate etc., her hubby claims he was the one out to get her ex brother in law and the sweet pit bull with lipstick knew nothing about his maneuvering.

These folks are devout but have a little tendency to situational morals.

If a tree falls in a forest and lands on a politician, even if you can't hear the tree or the screams, I'll bet you'd at least hear the applause.

The "Straight Talk Express" has lost so many wheels it's riding on it's belly Beer

Actually, the wheels touching the ground are just fine. It's just that someone stole the steering wheel to Mr. McCain's bus, thereby ensuring a very erratic course. Also unfortunate, is the fact that Mr. McCain is always look out the back of the bus as to where it has already been, instead of concentrating on where it should go.
