Good grief. Could McCain have been more condescending to the young African-American gentleman?

McCain was snarky and aggressive, too aggressive IMO.

"that one" -- and pointing sarcastically to Obama. Sheesh.

He surely didn't help himself in the polls.

It wasn't a game changer. McCain will not go up in the polls.

Was Obama the best ever? No, IMO. But by comparison, he was courteous and showed a lot more respect toward McCain, which McCain simply could not make himself return. And that will hurt McCain.

I think McCain should have been more agressive, he's not only battling Obama he's battling all of the media!

I think McCain just got hit. Hard.

Obama is flat out a better debater, and it showed.

It changes nothing. Obama will stay ahead in polls, but who wins is anyone's guess.

You, my dear, sound like a person that has been repeating the same information for a long time. Perpective is EVERYTHING.

He did OK but he merly repeated the same information of his opponent however, in a different manner. Oh, wait, he is a lawyer.

I Salute You Captain McCain! I would have been proud to have prepped or maintained your jets anywhere...anytime.

John McCain is still a Warrior, not a Soldier but a True Warrior to be Honored, I would have loved to have seen him as our next President.

You need to take off those rose colored glasses. I thought Obama clearly won the debate. I did some channel surfing after the debate and almost all the analysts gave it to Obama. Even some on FOX were being uncharacteristically objective. Post debate polling showed Obama way ahead on most issues, including leadership. He was ahead on some issues by 2 to 1 or more. CNN had 8 or 9 analysts, Republicans and Democrats and non-partisans. Not one of them thought McCain won. Republican consultant Alex Castellanos scored it a more lopsided victory for Obama than even Paul Begala or James Carville did! Bill Bennett said he supports McCain and has tremendous respect for him, but felt he just wasn't up to the task tonight. Jeffrey Toobin said if the poll numbers they're getting now hold for a day or 2, it's all but over for McCain. David Gergen had the most dramatic thing to say when asked if he thought the race was over. He said he wasn't prepared to say that quite yet, but only because there was a possibility that race could cost Obama as much as 6 percentage points on election day. That's a tragic commentary on the McCain campaign, that his best hope for victory now hangs on the racist vote. I believe, and fervently hope that Gergen underestimated how far America has come on racial issues.

The bottom line is that tonight's debate was a must-win for McCain, and he came up way short. Before the debate was over I thought I could hear the fat lady warming up her vocal chords off stage.

Again, perspective is everything. There are a few of us saw Obama bringing up the very same thing with a lawyers twist.

Sounds like a concession to me.
And, after tonight, I can understand why you would put it that way.
Cool

Are we watching the same debate? Wink

I have no idea what you're watching but I've been watching McCain answer the question while Obama twists, spins and shows himself clueless of facts.

That Kool Aid is bad for you.

Sorry, I don't drink Kool Aid... that's for the Obama lemmings who can't admit the 'one' hasn't a clue, a plan or articulate his beliefs, values or opinions without a carefully scripted teleprompter to keep him on track.
Confused When you refer to Obama as "the one", what are you meaning exactly?

OK, so where are the "objective" findings that MCain won the debate?

What I saw on CNN was the Repubs thought McCain won. But Independents said 2 to 1 (roughly) that Obama won. And Dems said Obama won.

40% of Americans are Dems, 30% are Independents and 30% are Republicans (roughly); you do the math.
Cool

There aren’t any…just wishful thinking on the part of the Palin/McCain supporters.

Well time is running out. I watched Hannity get tossed last night by some guy as he tried to use that tired azz argument once again. And where are the 527s?

To launch that kind of attack at this late date will only be viewed as desparation. Then, Obama does have defensive matters in which to counter attack. Wrong strategy and far to late. Ms. Palin as the pit bull attack dog makes her look bad.

Plus, there is ammo to use against her as well. Ain't y'all tired of that crap yet? America is sinking dammit and this is all you can offer to help us rebound? Sad, truely sad.

Study: Nearly all recent McCain ads were negative

By SCOTT BAUER, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 1 minute ago

MADISON, Wis. - Nearly every TV ad Republican John McCain ran last week was negative, compared to just 34 percent of those by Democrat Barack Obama, according to an analysis released Wednesday.

The harsher tone in McCain's ads mirrors the sharper attacks he and his running mate Sarah Palin have been making on the campaign trail as polls show Obama opening up a lead.

This is pure desperation on McCain's part.

Then by that means...when the Dems started attacking Palin just as soon as she was nominated VP would mean that the Dems were deperate.
