All I ever saw was this att ractiv e woman standing beside John. ?I was

Have you any idea how easy it is to become addicted to pain killers after back surgery? I tore the complete shmit out of my left knee in 1995 and came pretty damned close to becoming addicted to morphine because of the pain. You ever hear of "ghost pains"? They do exist in the mind of a person who has suffered excruciating pain for an extended time. I have lower back pains from my EMT days from lifting people at awkward angles or lifting very heavy people. I go through 10 Tylenols a day to kill the pain. Ghost pains are pains that aren't really there any longer but because they were present for so long, the person thinks they are. People who have had an amputation still feel pain in the body part that is no longer there. Ghost pains. Before anybody goes off about her former addiction, you need to remember something. 1) she admitted to it before the press took it to extremes, and 2) never judge a book by the cover unless you intend to read it. By doing so you find out that there's more to the story than meets the eye.

Yes, I am aware of the term "Phantom Limbs" This does not occur in back pain. It happens after an amputation.

So now we are going to make excuses for her?

Who's fault is it then? The Dr.? We could go on forever like this. I don't know about you, but I think it is quite a liability to have a recovering addict in the Whitehouse. If the tables were turned and it was Mrs. Obama all the Republican fear-mongerers would have a field day.

ps You shouldn't take that much Tylenol in one day. You might die from liver failure.

The movie you mention....it was actually a semi-fiction biography of Sen. McCain.

You should see the second part:

After he retires he tries to run for mayor. But the people are so sick and tired of the current mayor, and knowing the current mayor and this guy are old buddies they support a new guy in town. All the old-timers rally against the new guy who happens to be foreign. They try and make up all kinds of nasty rumors to appease their racist prejudices of the new guy in town.

The people, not being as dumb as the old-timers thought, see through the BS propaganda and elect the new guy as mayor.
